“Upon His Mailing a Child Support Check to L.L. Bean and a Check for Sleeping Bags to His Ex-Wife,” by Philip Dacey
August 18, 2010
This one passes out all the wrong checks to all the right people.
Dacey included this poem in his collection, Night Shift at the Crucifix Factory (U of Iowa Press, 1991).

This poem is somewhat like a solemn frolic. I like it.
I’m the author, Philip Dacey, and I love Laurie’s phrase “solemn frolic.”
Thanks for stopping by, Mr. Dacey. I’ve enjoyed your work now and then for a long time and have looked for your titles more purposefully since a colleague at Minnesota West (Worthington) gave me a copy of Farming Words a couple of years ago. Thank you for all of it.
