“The Joy of Cooking,” by Elaine Magarrell
September 16, 2011
Today’s poem could also have it braised and served in sour sauce.
I read “The Joy of Cooking” from my lit class textbook, The Compact Bedford Introduction to Literature (9th ed.), edited by Michael Meyer. It was first collected in Sometime the Cow Kick Your Head: Light Year ’88/9, an annual of light verse.
Oh, and my mic was working especially well today: that’s my Frances accompanying the poem with her flute practice.
