Saturday Linkenings: Poetry Animations
A jigger each of NortonAnthology and the Hall of Presidents, shaken in the Uncanny Valley, poured over an iced poet into a chilled YouTube, and garnished with a twist of antique cinema effect.
Ahh, a Poetry Animation. That hits the spot!
Jim Clark describes his YouTube channel as “virtual animated movies of great poets, literary and historical figures etc etc reincarnated through the wonders of computer animation reading their best loved poems and presented in the style of old scratchy movies.”
Hang out there yourself to discover hundreds of animations, from anthologized greats (Byron, Keats, Plath, Pope, Dickinson, and on and on), to semi-known gems (Keith Douglas, R.S. Thomas, H.P Lovecraft, and plenty more), to lovely Jane Does (“unknown girl poet” after “unknown girl poet“).
That’s strong stuff! I’ll have another. And another after that, thank you.
Fun post!
Thanks for the Poetry Animation and links!
