“You’re Missing,” by Bruce Springsteen

September 11, 2010

It’s September 11 today, and you’re missing, you’re missing.

Springsteen’s lyrics are printed among the “Poetry in Popular Forms” in The Compact Bedford Introduction to Literature (8th ed.) edited by Michael Meyer. The song is on Springsteen’s album The Rising, and you can watch him perform it right here:

Confession: I went through most of the day unplugged and oblivious of the date.
After getting home from errands I check my phone for the date and time. September 11 stops me cold. Now this and I Remember again.
