“When I Was One-and-Twenty,” by A.E. Housman (Guest Reader!)
July 1, 2010
This one gives pearls away and rubies but keeps its fancy free.
Brad Stangeland, Minnesota West lit student, read “When I Was One-and-Twenty” from The Compact Bedford Introduction to Literature (8th ed.) edited by Michael Meyer. It’s also in Housman’s 1896 collection, A Shropshire Lad (Dover Thrift, 1990) or his Collected Poems (Wordsworth, 1994).
